The Sweet Potato Freak

So if you're wondering about the 'cook', here's me.

I was born in Japan, to an American mom and a Japanese dad.  We lived in Tokyo until I was 12, and then we moved to the San Francisco Bay Area.  The U.S. has been my primary residence ever since that move, and I call it home.  But I think of Japan as my home too.   I still have family living there (including my 104 year-old Grandpa - who is still very much alive and kicking!).

I totally dig being a mom to two kids, and I love cooking and eating good food.   I've also discovered running in the last few years, and love it.  Running, exercising - and stretching! - feels really good to me.   There are days I feel like the most awesomest parent/chick, and feel like have everything figured out.  And then, there are days where I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing.   It's so wacky.  Yet...I can't imagine doing anything else.  Does anyone else feel like that?

I like funny things that make me laugh. I love the feeling when I wake up and the sun is shining. If I can stay in bed and rub my feet against the sheets for a while, it makes me even more happy.

I don't really do anything extraordinary or news worthy.  I just take care of my peeps as best as I can.  And I guess...you know, like most people - I just want to love and be loved :)

That's me - trying to look natural outside my kitchen

    1. I am dreaming about making a savory one! - like a topping with crispy bacon, sauteed onions and cheese, with parsley... Love the maple flavor idea too. Thank you so much for the encouragement :) I'll keep working on it!!
